The Beak
Why did God give the humpback camel? Why does an
elephant have a big trunk? Why do birds have wings?
Why does a cow have a tail?
If your children ask these questions and you don’t have
a suitable and convincing answer for them, this book
will definitely help you. The series “Gifts from God”
was written precisely to answer these frequently asked
questions of children.
Text from the book The Beak
After many days of waiting, the pigeon chicks finally
hatched. The gentle little chicks broke through their shells
and emerged from inside the eggs. The mother and father
pigeon were very happy to see their newborns.
Right away, the Mother Pigeon’s life changed drastically.
Before the chicks were born, her task was to sit on the eggs
and keep them warm. Now that the chicks were here, her
most important duty was to keep the little ones well fed. She
had to look for the wheat and oat grains, then crush and soften
them. The food was further softened in her stomach, after
which she gave it to the chicks to eat, so that they could digest
it.
As each day passed, the chicks grew bigger and bigger.
Soon their parents’ nest was too small for all of them. The
growing chicks slowly learned to fly so that they could hunt
and take care of themselves. Soon, they would be ready to
leave their parents’ nest.
